Trésor Bleu Exclusive
Item № B400.106
Origin: France, c. 1910
Rare, with years of wear, years of prayer. Guardian Angel pendant from mid-century France. On the front is an image of a guardian angel and child, with the words: SAINTE ANGE GARDIEN VEILLEZ S.M., which means "Holy Guardian Angel, watch over me." On reverse is the Congregation of Saint Angels, which was a female-only organization founded in the late 19th century to help at-risk girls in France.
The medal belonged to a member of this wonderful organization, who's duty was to be guardian angels to girls. The medal has some damage from the years. It is gold wash over alloy metal, so still retains a light gold hue but is not silver.
Trésors blue are tiny pieces of French art and devotion. Also known as "Médailles De Pelerinage" or "Medals of Pilgrimage," these little medals have had voyages from another generation, another life, another country. The deep blue is the sacred color of Mary, representing truth, hope, and faith since 200 AD. People of faith still undertake pilgrimages as a way of deepening their religious devotion, seeking miracles, spiritual healing, forgiveness, or for the journey itself. The experience is not solely about reaching the end, it is about what is endured, enjoyed, and learned along the way.
All trésors bleu are pre-packaged for gifting, and shipping is free within the U.S., signature upon delivery.
