France: Basilica of Lisieux, c. 1920
Precious almost 100-year old prayer altar, tiny but beautiful, that folds flat. Features Saint Thérèse of Lisieux, called the "Little Flower" of the Church, but also known as the youngest ever Doctor of the Church. She is known for her compassion, love, and doing "small things with great love." She is the namesake for St. Teresa of Calcutta, (formerly Mother Teresa).
This precious altar is made of metal alloys but is still in beautiful condition. It folds flat, and is 2 inches high, 1.5 inches wide. A tiny but mighty faith companion that started its journey in France, likely when the Basilica of Liseux was being built in the early 1920s. Lisieux and the Basilica there are pilgrimage destinations for the faithful looking for a closeness with St. Thérèse, deepening faith, closeness with God.
