Trésor Bleu Exclusive
France, c. 1958 - 100th Anniversary of the Apparition
Well-preserved classic hexagon shape 825 silver (French standard) medal. .45 inches in diameter bright, rich bleu/blue relief medal from 1958, the 100th Anniversary of the Apparition to St. Bernadette at Lourdes. Our Lady of Lourdes is the Catholic title of the Blessed Virgin Mary venerated in honor of the Marian apparitions in 1858 near Lourdes, France. The first of these is the apparition of 11 February 1858, when Bernadette Soubirous, a 14-year-old peasant girl, admitted to her mother that a "lady" spoke to her in the cave of Massabielle while she was gathering firewood with her sister and a friend. One side is the Apparition, and the other side a relief profile image of Mary in two tones of cobalt blue. 1958 was the 100th anniversary of the Apparitions at Lourdes, and this medal was received, blessed, and gifted that year, 60 years ago. Chain is 925 sterling and 18 inches long, with square 1 mm beads and a drop bead, .3 inches long.
All trésors are packaged for gifting.
