Trésor Bleu Exclusive - Rare
Stunning oblong-shaped pendant medal with Our Lady on the front with gorgeous tones of deep cobalt blue and teal blue. Three marcasites, in vintage technique, on the front below image of Mary, representing the Trinity. The reverse is a slightly chipped but beautiful image of the original Apparition at Lourdes, which occurred in 1858 with Saint Bernadette as the 14 year old witness. No visible tarnishing and will stand up to many more years of prayer, years of wear. This medal is .78 inches in height, .7 inches at its widest part at the bottom. The medal was sold and blessed at Lourdes in 1947. It hangs on a 20 inch 14/20 thin twisted silver chain that is adjustable from choker length (less than 16 inches) all the way up to 20 inches. Chain made in Italy. It also features a drop bead in silver, total of .4 inches long. Trésors blue are tiny pieces of French art and devotion. Also known as "Médailles De Pelerinage" or "Medals of Pilgrimage," these little medals have had voyages from another generation, another life, another country. The deep "ultramarine" blue is the sacred color of Mary, representing truth, hope, and faith since 200 AD.
People of faith still undertake pilgrimages as a way of deepening their religious devotion, seeking miracles, spiritual healing, forgiveness, or for the journey itself. The experience is not solely about reaching the end, it is about what is endured, enjoyed, and learned along the way.
All trésors bleu are pre-packaged for gifting.
