Open Hexagon Lourdes Necklace

Item №  SS04132

Origin:  Lourdes, France, c. 1958

Trésor Bleu Exclusive

Beautiful hexagon openwork pendant medal with Our Lady on the front in gorgeous tones of "bleu."  The reverse is a perfectly-preserved image of the original Apparition at Lourdes, which occurred in 1858 with Saint Bernadette as the 14 year old witness.  No visible tarnishing and will stand up to many more years of prayer, years of wear.  This medal is .4 inches in diameter.  The medal was sold and blessed at Lourdes in 1958, its 100th Anniversary.   It hangs on a 925 tarnish-resistant 17 inch alternating rope and bar chain.  Chain made in Italy.  Trésors blue are tiny pieces of French art and devotion.  Also known as "Médailles De Pelerinage" or "Medals of Pilgrimage," these little medals have had voyages from another generation, another life, another country.  The deep "ultramarine" blue is the sacred color of Mary, representing truth, hope, and faith since 200 AD.

People of faith still undertake pilgrimages as a way of deepening their religious devotion, seeking miracles, spiritual healing, forgiveness, or for the journey itself.  The experience is not solely about reaching the end, it is about what is endured, enjoyed, and learned along the way.

All trésors bleu are pre-packaged for gifting.
