Petit Cadre de Lourdes Necklace
Item № 731SSS8
Origin: Lourdes, France, c. 1958
Beautiful hexagon pendant medal with Our Lady on the front in gorgeous tones of "bleu." The reverse is a slightly worn image of the original Apparition at Lourdes, which occurred in 1858 with Saint Bernadette as the 14 year old witness. This medal is small and dainty: .4 inches in diameter. The medal was sold and blessed at Lourdes in 1958, its 100th Anniversary. It hangs on a connected oval silver chain, 18 inches, 925 silver with rhodium coating to prevent tarnishing.
Trésors blue are tiny pieces of French art and devotion. Also known as "Médailles De Pelerinage" or "Medals of Pilgrimage," these little medals have had voyages from another generation, another life, another country. The deep "ultramarine" blue is the sacred color of Mary, representing truth, hope, and faith since 200 AD. People of faith still undertake pilgrimages as a way of deepening their religious devotion, seeking miracles, spiritual healing, forgiveness, or for the journey itself. The experience is not solely about reaching the end, it is about what is endured, enjoyed, and learned along the way.
All trésors bleu are pre-packaged for gifting and shipping is free in the U.S.
