Grey Bleu Guilloché Communion Necklace
Item No. 903LSC3
Trésor Bleu Exclusive
Origin: France, 1940
Beautifully preserved, large and rare Guilloché pendant of Jesus with a child receiving communion, with chalice. This is a rare handmade medal exactly 1.2 inches across, 1.2 inches high, not including bale. Exceptional pale, grey-blue color and condition for its age. The classic guilloché pattern is a type of metal etching from France, indicative of its mid-century design and roots. Trésors bleu are pieces of historic art and devotion. Also known as "Médailles De Pelerinage" or "Medals of Pilgrimage," these little medals have had voyages from another generation, another life, another country. The deep "ultramarine" blue is the sacred color of Mary, representing truth, hope, and faith since 200 AD. Pendant hangs from a rosary-style bead and a center-opening chain, silver box cut, which can be worn as a choker all the way up to a 28-inch long necklace.
People of faith still undertake pilgrimages as a way of deepening their religious devotion, seeking miracles, spiritual healing, forgiveness, or for the journey itself. The experience is not solely about reaching the end, it is about what is endured, enjoyed, and learned along the way.
All trésors bleu are pre-packaged for gifting and shipping is free within the U.S.
