Elegant, exquisite and large, round openwork sterling pendant medal with Our Lady on the front in two tones of blue vitreous enamel, perfectly preserved. On the reverse is the image of the original Apparition at Lourdes, which occurred in 1858 with Saint Bernadette as the 14 year old witness. This medal is 1.2 inches in diameter, not including bale. The outer "crown" of openwork includes stylized mid-century Fleur des Lis, interlocking and high degree of craftsmanship.
It hangs on a twisted rope chain, 925 sterling silver, which catches the light beautifully. Chain made in Italy and can be adjusted from choker to 28" long via a silicon ball. .5 inch drop with 4mm genuine blue lapis lazuli bead. Very versatile piece.
