Trésor Bleu Exclusive
Item № B400.100
France, c. 1957
Small but mighty (.4 inches diameter) pendant of St. Christopher carrying Jesus. This medal was recovered from a mid-century jeweler, who had a collection of medals never sold. So this particular medal was never sold or blessed, just preserved in time. Silver frame, star shaped open work. St. Christopher is the patron saint of travel and journeys, so this medal is perfect for sacrament of Confirmation, graduation or "something blue" for a wedding. Hangs from a 16 inch silver chain with rhodium coating to prevent tarnishing.
Trésors blue are tiny pieces of French art and devotion. Also known as "Médailles De Pelerinage" or "Medals of Pilgrimage," these little medals have had voyages from another generation, another life, another country. The deep "ultramarine" blue is the sacred color of Mary, representing truth, hope, and faith since 200 AD.
People of faith still undertake pilgrimages as a way of deepening their religious devotion, seeking miracles, spiritual healing, forgiveness, or for the journey itself. The experience is not solely about reaching the end, it is about what is endured, enjoyed, and learned along the way.
All trésors bleu are pre-packaged for gifting and shipping is free within the U.S.
