Trésor Bleu Exclusive
Rare, 127 year old Antique Nuptial Medal
Paris, France, 1891, Belle Époque Era
Antique, elegant, and perfectly-preserved 1.03 inch diameter 825 sterling silver relief medal from 1891. One side is a depiction of Jesus blessing the bride and groom, with the French words, "Benediction Nuptiale" in relief (Marriage Blessing). The reverse has 5 cherubic angels surrounding the engraving "J.B. Lemohon and L. Chambelland, 4.11.1891," which would be April 11, 1891 based on the way the "11" is emphasized in the engraving. This was a Saturday. On the edge of the medal is a stamp which includes "Argent," high quality silver. There is also the sanglier French silver hallmark. It has some wear from normal devotional use. The Belle Époque era in Paris is renowned for prosperity, art, and creativity. It would be a perfect bridal or anniversary gift.
The pendant has a .5 inch drop, with a classic rosary-style three-way connector. The double chain is from a 8mm beaded rosary style chain, grey-blue. It hangs at 24 inches (see photos). Shipping is free within the U.S. See photos for scale.
