Item No. 1023-77LS
Trésor Bleu Exclusive
Origin: France, 1909. RARE, one-of-a-kind
Beautifully preserved, elegant 109-year-old medal of Mary, 1.2 inches in diameter. On the front is Mary in profile, detailed etching surround and her head encircled with a gold plated halo. The reverse has engraving with the initials "M.A.C" and the date 6 Juin, 1909. June 6, 1909. It was likely a confirmation gift, for a young woman, as June 6, 1909 was a Sunday. The medal is set on a drop ring and a versatile yet substantial 1.2 mm box chain, which can be adjusted from choker length all the way up to 28 inches in length. See images for perspectives on size and length.
Trésors blue are pieces of French art and devotion. Also known as "Médailles De Pelerinage" or "Medals of Pilgrimage," these medals have had voyages from another generation, another life, another country. People of faith still undertake pilgrimages as a way of deepening their religious devotion, seeking miracles, spiritual healing, forgiveness, or for the journey itself. The experience is not solely about reaching the end, it is about what is endured, enjoyed, and learned along the way.
