Rond Sainte-Thérèse Necklace - 1944
Item No. A300.106
Trésor Bleu Exclusive
Origin: Lisieux Basilica, France, c. 1954
Beautiful, perfectly preserved St. Thérèse de Liseiux medal in a gorgeous tone of ocean blue. The pendant is .8 inches inches in diameter, about the size of a dime. St. Thérese is one of the most venerated saints of the past two centuries, aka the "little flower," but also considered a Doctor of the Church. She is known for living by doing "small things with great love," a philosophy Saint Teresa of Calcutta (aka Mother Teresa) adopted when she took on the French saint's name.
Trésors blue are tiny pieces of French art and devotion. Also known as "Médailles De Pelerinage" or "Medals of Pilgrimage," these medals have had voyages from another generation, another life, another country. People of faith still undertake pilgrimages as a way of deepening their religious devotion, seeking miracles, spiritual healing, forgiveness, or for the journey itself. The experience is not solely about reaching the end, it is about what is endured, enjoyed, and learned along the way.
